We got to take pictures of our favorite little girl again this year! Allie turned two! I always have the best time photographing her. It was super hot during this session, so of course we had to end the shoot with some water in a tin. Allie really enjoyed it up until the water started to drain and revealed the shower curtain I duct taped over some holes in the bottom. As you can see, she wasn't impressed.
Crying pictures aren't always bad, because I know it is such a familiar face for the parents. I like the idea of my clients being able to look back at my pictures and remember a little bit of real life. If I could give advice to my future clients or anyone else planning to have a photoshoot, I would say that it is ok to let real life happen. I know that the classic, posed family photo can be ideal, but sometimes it just doesn't happen! It is ok to have a 2-year old who doesn't want to look at the camera!
Some more advice? Bribery is totally ok in my book. ;) Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do! Allie here was promised a cold slushy from Sonic if she did a good job. She made it through and we got some amazing pictures! Patience is super important during shoots like this, from both the parents AND the photographer. There is no need to be embarrassed by your sweet kiddos. Sometimes you just have to let them be children and let the photographer capture that reality!
Molly, thank you so much for letting us freeze yet another milestone for Allie. She really is the sweetest and has the most amazing smile!
